September 18, 2023HME News Staff

NEW YORK – ResMed will likely lose CPAP device market share when Philips re-enters the market, according to the 3Q23 HME Sleep and Oxygen Survey from Needham.   Respondents to the survey indicated that if Philips re-entered the market and had unconstrained supply, they would return to purchasing 26% of their pre-recall CPAP device volume from Philips, though that’s down from 32% in a prior survey.  Additionally, when Philips re-enters the market, 8% of respondents...

Semaglutides and sleep (and diabetes and …???)

August 23, 2023Liz Beaulieu, Editor

You’d have to be living under a rock not to know what semaglutides are these days. Semaglutides, of course, are the new weight loss medications that go by brand names like Wegovy, Ozempic and Rybelsus. It’s hard to keep track of which celebrities have been on it, are on it or are denying being on it.   But I’d be lying if I weren’t...

ResMed seeks to leverage next-gen device, AI in new fiscal year

August 4, 2023Liz Beaulieu, Editor

SAN DIEGO – ResMed’s focus for the better part of its fiscal year 2023 was creating unconstrained access to the AirSense 10 – largely to meet increased demand due to a competitor’s large recall – and now that it has checked that box, the company’s focus is scaling production of the AirSense 11.  That unconstrained access to the AirSense 10 was a big reason why the company posted a 30% increase in device sales in the U.S., Canada and Latin American...
